Shawn Ostrower

Shawn Phillips Ostrower grew up in San Antonio, Texas struggling with a diagnosed learning disability beginning at age five. Through family, education, tutors, and guidance she acquired a self-knowledge that gave her the ability to compensate and in some cases overcome self-weaknesses. She also empowered herself by capitalizing on all of her strengths with grace and confidence. Shawn attended Xavier University and earned a bachelor of science in Early Childhood Education with a concentration on Child Development. She continued her education attending Teachers College, Columbia University earning a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology. Shawn has developed literacy and developmental programs for Independent and Chartered School Districts, worked with non-profit companies providing early intervention services and CPSE evaluations for low-income families, founded Educate2learn, guest lectured for colleges and universities, contracted with Autism Speaks, and recently completed training as a Child Life Specialist.

Shawn is a loving wife and mother of 2. Her family relocated to South Florida in 2011. When she is not carting her kiddos around or working she can be found volunteering at Joe Di’Maggio Children’s Hospital. She enjoys reading, running, and traveling in her spare time.
